What is the Cube Tower Challenge?
In a standard speedcubing tournament, you solve one puzzle at a time and reset. The Cube Tower Challenge flips the script by putting your endurance to the test. Each “Tower” is a line-up of multiple scrambled puzzles that you must solve back-to-back in a single continuous run, without stopping the timer. Your combined completion time determines whether you take home the Turbo or Zippy Trophy.
Conceptualized by Brain Studio, this marathon-style format challenges four core skills:
- Multi-Puzzle Versatility: Adapting seamlessly from 2×2 and 3×3 to Pyraminx, Skewb, Clock, and Square-1.
- Lightning Transitions: Moving from one puzzle to the next without losing momentum.
- Composure Under Pressure: Staying focused when a single mistake impacts the whole tower.
- Endurance Strategy: Pacing your look-ahead and turning speed across 3, 5, or 7 consecutive solves.
Event Dates & Weekend Schedule
CTC 2026 takes place across two thrilling days. You are free to book a convenient 1-hour time slot on Saturday, Sunday,or both days depending on which towers you enter.
| Day & Date | Scheduled Towers |
| Day 1 – Saturday, 21st November 2026 | Tower D, Tower E, Tower F |
| Day 2 – Sunday, 22nd November 2026 | Tower A, Tower B, Tower C |
The competition rules and live-judging standards follow our proven Cubing Heat framework, guaranteeing a smooth, transparent, and fair experience for every competitor.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Each participant gets one (1) official attempt per registered tower.During this single attempt, you must solve all the puzzles in your chosen tower (3, 5, or 7 puzzles) consecutively in one non-stop run. Please check carefully, a DNF (Did Not Finish) on any single puzzle results in a DNF for that entire tower attempt!
Out of the 6 tower categories, a cuber can participate in all four of the 3-Cube Towers (Towers A, B, C, and D) and one of the marathon towers (either Tower E or the Tower F Micro Guildford Challenge)
While registering, you will choose a convenient 1-hour time slot. If you register for towers taking place on both days (for example, Tower D on Saturday and Tower B on Sunday), please make sure to select one time slot for Day 1 (21st Nov) and one time slot for Day 2 (22nd Nov).
In Tower D, all three puzzles (2×2, 3×3, and Pyraminx) must be solved strictly using one hand from start to finish. During a puzzle solve, only one hand may touch the puzzle; using the table surface to help turn or stabilize is permitted under standard One-Handed speedcubing rules.
Registrations close on Thursday, 19th November 2026. We recommend booking early to secure your preferred time slot.
