We’ve Got Answers
Everything you need to know about this online 3×3 Rubik’s Cube competition — from how to participate to how winners are decided.
What is Apex Cubing: One Cube Go?
Apex Cubing: One Cube Go is an online live international 3×3 Rubik’s Cube competition organised by Cubing Heat Cube Club. It is a focused, single-event championship — only the 3×3 cube — with live 1-on-1 Zoom judging, official timing, and prizes for Top 10 Singles and Top 10 Averages. It was created by popular request after the 3×3 cube was the most-loved event across 30+ countries and 140+ cities at the MSCC 2026.
Is this a Rubik’s Cube competition I can join from home?
Yes — this is entirely online. Whether you’re looking for a Rubik’s Cube competition near you or you’re competing from across the world, One Cube Go is accessible from any location with an internet connection. All you need is your 3×3 cube, a device with a camera, and a Zoom-compatible setup. No travel, no venue, no barriers.
How does live judging work in an online speedcubing competition?
Each competitor is assigned a dedicated live judge who joins their Zoom session. The judge supervises every solve in real time — from scramble inspection to the final turn. All sessions are recorded, and our team reviews each recording before results are officially published. This ensures maximum integrity and fairness across this online Rubik’s Cube tournament.
Who can participate? Is there an age limit?
One Cube Go is open to anyone who is passionate about speedcubing — there is no age restriction. Whether you’re a young beginner or a seasoned competitor, all skill levels and all ages are welcome. The only requirement is a 3×3 Rubik’s Cube and the will to compete.
What is the Ao2 format and how are results calculated?
Ao2 stands for Average of 2 — each competitor completes two timed solves, and their average is calculated. Results are ranked in two separate leaderboards: one for Best Average (Ao2) and one for Best Single solve. Trophies are awarded to the Top 10 in each category, giving cubers two paths to glory.
What prizes can I win at this online 3×3 Rubik’s Cube championship?
Top 10 competitors in the Averages leaderboard win trophies, and Top 10 in the Singles leaderboard also win trophies — that’s 20 trophy winners in total. Every registered participant automatically receives a free raffle entry for lucky dip prizes including cubes and cubing gear. Additionally, every participant receives a personalised digital certificate featuring their name and photo as a keepsake of the championship.
What equipment do I need to participate?
You need a 3×3 Rubik’s Cube, a device with a working camera (laptop, tablet, or phone), a stable internet connection, and the Zoom app installed. Timing is done via an online timer — no stackmat or physical timer needed.
Who organises this online Rubik’s Cube competition?
