Welcome to the New Year Cube Championship (NYCC) 2026. Kick off your speedcubing year with a bang in this premier online tournament designed to test your skills across standard puzzles and brand new, never before seen competitive formats.
While we celebrate the tradition of our annual New Year event, the 2026 edition is unlike any other online cubing competition in January. We aren’t just looking for the fastest solvers; we are looking for the most versatile cubers in the world.

We’ve kept the age groups and high-energy atmosphere you loved from last year, but we’ve completely revolutionized the event list.
The “Impossible” One-Handed Challenge: You know 3×3 One-Handed. But do you have the dexterity for 2×2 One-Handed or the stability for Pyraminx One-Handed? NYCC 2026 is putting these extremely rare events on the official schedule. This is your chance to set unofficial world records in categories few dare to try!

The Fastest Fingers (In Reverse): Introducing a highly anticipated event: The Fastest Scrambler 3×3. Solving is only half the battle. Can you accurately scramble a 3×3 cube faster than anyone else? This unique event tests your pure finger speed and notation reading ability under pressure.

Age Groups & Prizes
We believe in rewarding consistency and effort across all skill levels. We are proud to offer deep prize pools for this competition.
Trophies will be awarded to the Top 5 finishers in EVERY age group for EVERY individual event. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th. Special event does not have an age group.

How many attempts do I get for each event?
Each cuber will be allowed two (2) attempts for each registered event. Then, the average of 2 will be used to calculate the rankings in each event.
